The Catholic Church identifies for us various works of mercy—the Corporal Works of Mercy and the Spiritual Works of Mercy—to guide and inspire us to live for others. These are actions that we can perform that extend God’s compassion and mercy to those in need. The Corporal Works of Mercy are kind actions by which we help our neighbors with their material and physical needs, while the Spiritual Works of Mercy are acts of compassion by which we help our neighbors with their emotional and spiritual needs.
Our Lady of the Snows’ outreach programs are a collaborative effort of many individuals and organizations in the valley. Listed below are some of the programs we offer for support. Please contact the parish office at 208-622-3432 or [email protected] if you would like to help or if you have an idea for an outreach program and would like to coordinate it.
If you would like to reach out to parishioners who have experienced heartbreak or are celebrating a sacrament or special anniversary, consider joining the Card & Remembrance Ministry. This is a group of parishioners who hand-write cards from our parish as a way to reach out. If you would like to join this ministry or know someone who would appreciate a card, please contact the parish office.
Each year the parish supports local families in need by providing gifts (necessities and wish list items). If you would like to help with the planning and implementation of this ministry, please contact the parish office.
This organization was formed by a group of individuals from various faith communities whose mission is to serve hot meals to those in need. All meals are prepared and served by volunteers. Meals are served at St. Charles Catholic Church every Monday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas). If you would like to donate or volunteer, please fill out the online inquiry at www.soupersupper.org/contact-us.
